Aloe Vera Juice Benefits for Weight Loss

Aloe Vera Juice Benefits for Weight Loss – Introduction

Hello Guys;  Alex here and for this post I have decided to look at Aloe Vera Juice Benefits for Weight Loss.  My idea for this post was because of something that I see whilst away on holiday very recently in Malta.

I went to a marine park which had as it’s main attraction Dolphins, and Sea Lions as well as a large aviary, plus Parrots and various Reptiles.  Other than this though there a mixture of different exotic plants here.  These included amongst them Aloe Vera… and on one of the information boards I was reading, it said about all the qualities and other health benefits of this plant.  See pic.

Above in the bullet points it says that Aloe Vera is a powerful adaptogen (a natural substance considered to help the body adapt to stress), #helps with digestion, #supports the cardiovascular, and immune system, #Reduces inflammation, #alkalizes the body, #is great for the skin, #detoxifies the body, and is an anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal disinfectant.

Plus in amongst these bullet points is that Aloe Vera can Help with Weight Loss.

This is what I want to look at today and according to my research, there is a type of product that might be one to consider…

This is Aloe Vera Juice!

What is the Aloe Vera Plant, and Where Can it be Found?

Just quickly before I go into what the Aloe Vera Juice Benefits for Weight Loss are.  Just to answer this question for anybody that would like to know a bit more about this actual plant.

Aloe Vera is a cactus-like type of fleshy green or grey-green stemless in appearance plant of the Liliaceae family.

It can be found in many different countries in tropical or subtropical climates.  It originates from the Arabian peninsula but is grown widespread for commercial use in the Caribbean area and in the southern states of the USA.

It can be grown as a house plant with the right kind of care.

What Are the General Health Benefits of Aloe Vera

I know I already have covered the main health benefits above but just before I look at Aloe Vera Juice for Weight Loss I thought it might be a good idea to take another look at the all-round healing properties of this plant.

To begin with the actual Aloe Vera plant is known to contain more than 200 different compounds.

What's inside aloe vera

Now, with so much packed inside it is no surprise that Aloe Vera has many, many different health benefits.  Of the above vitamins and minerals mentioned in the screenshot above these include; Vitamins A, B, C, E & M.  As well as minerals such as Calcium, Potassium, Phosphorous, Iron, Magnesium, Manganese, Copper and Zinc.

Aloe Vera other than the health benefits already mentioned can be used as a gel to treat burns and relieve skin irritation. It can be used to treat stomach ulcers and can accelerate healing. Other than this it is used to reduce dental plaque, it can lower blood sugar levels, as a treatment for diabetes, and can even help with cancer and tumourous growths.

It is a Natural Laxative that Improves Digestive Health – regulates bowel movement and very good for the Large Intestine.

Can Reduce Blood Sugar Levels – lowers glucose and prevents fat accumulation by reducing the intake of certain sugars.

Contains Many Different Vitamins and Minerals that can aid with Weight Loss –  Some I have already mentioned, but these alongside certain fatty acids and amino acids can help your body trigger chemical processes that as a result help with burning off calories naturally.

By reducing Cortisol levels and boosting other vital natural defences.

How to Make Your Own Aloe Vera Juice

#In the image above are instructions on how to make your very own ‘homemade’ aloe vera juice. These are just a few ideas I found floating about so please bear with me.

The first is you should wash the leaves after breaking them off the plant.  Secondly, another thing that is not mentioned above is to dry with an absorbent cloth. and afterwards, to leave a bit of extra time for the rind to dry completely.

#Reading from other instructions cut the leaf in half.  Gently scrape Gel into a bowl.  It must look clear and free of any green or yellow bits because⚠️ warning these parts are highly toxic 🤢

The trick is not to actually scrape any of the rinds at the bottom of the leaf.  You only want the clear white translucent kind of gel and you don’t really want to cut into the plant at all.  As mentioned this part is actually highly toxic and can cause severe stomach cramps.

Where to Get Leaves for ‘Homemade’ Aloe Vera Juice?

OK so obviously you can get aloe vera leaves from an aloe vera plant.  That does not take a genius to figure out, but for a lot of people, such as my fellow British, and Irish neighbours, as well as many other Europeans, aloe vera is not exactly something that can be found whilst out in the woods.

Actually, I said about just getting back home from Malta – I’m pretty sure this may grow in the wild out there. Quite a few wild cactus type plants I see, and as this country is on the borders of Tunisia, and Libya in North Africa this actually did occur to me.  Also, I think maybe other hot European countries such as Spain, Italy, and Greece may have the same suitable conditions.

Although for anybody that can’t source this plant from foraging then my suggestion would be to buy online.

I see that you can buy from Amazon but as well I would suggest a website such as Holland and Barrett, or a simple google search.

Where to Buy Pure Aloe Vera Juice, and Other Products

Actually many health stores sell Aloe Vera products.

There are many, many different types available that are made with Aloe Vera gel because of how powerful it is. These include  Shampoo, Skin Care Products, Creams for conditions such as eczema, mouth wash, toothpaste, teething gel, and bath oils.

Others too.  This you can be certain of.

As for the actual Aloe Vera juice though the two main places that spring to my mind, for me, and they are Amazon and again the health food store Holland and Barrett, which sell a wide range of different Aloe Vera products. One good example is Aloe-Pura Bio-Active Maximum Strength – Balanced Formulation – Aloe Vera Juice as shown below.

As for supplements again both Amazon and Holland and Barrett are the main places that spring to mind but another website is called naturesbest.co.uk. and they do a high strength supplement here that is equivalent to 10,000mg of Aloe Vera gel.

In Conclusion…

The Aloe Vera Juice Benefits for Weight Loss are just one of many different qualities of the aloe vera plant.  For anybody looking to test this method out my personal reccomendation would be to try and source actual aloe vera leaves, and carefully extracting the gel for smoothies, and juicing.

Alternatively, for anybody that is looking to save time, or if you are worried about the risks associated with extracting aloe vera gel both the products above are sold by highly reputable companies with years of experience.

  1. Hi, it’s really incredible for how many different purposes Aloe Vera can be used. Do you have an overview of countries where this plant can be found in nature? I am not sure if I would be able to extract the Aloe Vera juice myself, but thankfully you included some places where the product can be purchased already.

    Thanks, Mariana.

    • Hi Mariana,  Not really sure where you can pick wild aloe vera but I am fairly certain you can grow as a houseplant.

  2. Thank you for the great reminder of this wonderful plant! I have bought Aloe juice in the past, but not for a long time, and didn’t realise it could be good for weight loss! I’m wondering how much we need to take for this and for how long?

I have mainly used the plant for sunburn and burns from cooking, and have a plant on the balcony. Sometimes it gives little babies to the side and I start plants for other people.

I also didn’t know about the toxic rim of the plant… so now I’m wondering, if I rub the aloe vera gel, straight from the plant over my sunburn, will the toxins affect me? I cut each leaf I’m using in half, and I rub all the gel off till I come to the thin edge of the leaf. I try to get every last piece of goodness out of it.

    • Hi Jaquie,  To be honest, I am only just finding out for myself.  I think it is just a matter of fitting it into a routine of taking regularly until you start to notice the effects.

About your question with the sunburn, I don’t really know but I have heard that if you actually consume anything other than the gel it can give you very bad stomach cramps.  I would say if you have used it this way before and it hasn’t caused any adverse effects you may be ok to keep doing so.
