Hearing loss is a part of getting older.  As we age this is, unfortunately, something that becomes a stark reality for many people.  If we don’t have experience of this first-hand it’s likely that we have seen this happen with older friends and family.

I really DO NOT need to tell people this is how things are but Can Sonovive Help Restore Hearing Loss? The Truth Revealed!  So before you look to try this or any other supplements for hearing loss – here are the facts.

Hearing loss can happen as a direct result of vitamin and mineral deficiencies.  This can be because of our diet or simply just because the body does not absorb nutrients well enough.  Nutrition is key to many dietary supplements working and Sonovive is no different.  This is a nutritional supplement marketed as something to help restore hearing loss.

You can find out more about Sonovive here but in short, what you should know is there are some very interesting claims made by Sonovive about how certain plants and organic chemicals can help if you have lost your hearing.

Basically, any kind of blood flow supplements seem to be a solution here but let’s dig a bit further.

What Is Sonovive?

We have already established that Sonovive is a potential treatment for hearing loss.

Apparently, this is an effective, natural and pure remedy that includes a blend of;

  • Ginkgo Biloba,
  • St. John’s Wort,
  • Bacopa Monnieri,
  • Vinpocetine,
  • Huperzine-A

On its sales page, it mentions that this dietary supplement was formulated by medical chemist Sam Olsen from Philidelphia USA.  Not much else is shared about this product here except about how the ingredients are grown and also the process of producing this supplement thereafter.

I think I have seen enough already but please keep reading about whether or not I think “Can Sonovive Help Restore Hearing Loss” and if not if there are any other solutions that might help do this job instead.

This is not the only supplement of this kind on the market so still plenty to look at here.

Please just bear with me.

Who Makes Sonovive?

Nothing else is revealed here on the Sonovive website except that Sam Olsen created this formula based on his extensive knowledge of plants and herbs.  As well as his experience in medicinal chemistry and herbal remedies.

No clear information is given about the company behind Sonovive although if you read the label on one of the bottles their address is listed as Sonovive, 19655 E, 35th Drive, #100 Aurora, Colorado, 80011, USA

After a Google search for this address, you can see a few names will come up including ShipOffers, Mohawk and Ethan Allen Warehouse.  I am not sure which company is behind Sonovive but ShipOffers seems like it is running its distribution.

You can see from this screenshot actually that they are involved with dietary supplements;

who are shipoffers.com

…Which, is pretty intriguing if you ask me but here is the thing>  I have actually come across ShipOffers.  Recently, I ordered a bottle of Bioptimizers Magnesium Breakthrough and this is where it shipped from.

I’m guessing this is a kind of Amazon FBA kind of deal where this company ships these products out from their warehouse.

However, this is where the trail ends which does leave me quite suspicious.

Although looking at this type of product and others I think it is a good idea to ask.

Can Supplements Help Restore Hearing Loss?

Well, now I actually find this part absolutely fascinating.  If you go to the Sonovive website and click on the contact us section there is a set of Sonovive FAQs here.   One of them says the following;

what really causes hearing loss. Scientists believe it could be attributed to hairs in the inner ear and how they communicate with the brain.

So it says we need little hairs in our inner ear to be able to receive sounds.  This I have read about before I think ~ Stereocilia – which are the organelles of these hair cells.

It says that these transmit and receive electric signals but then it says above and in the Sonovive VSL that it isn’t these little hairs that stop working but rather that the brain cells these small hairs communicate with are what really die.

These are apparently called translators and the secret to Sonovive’s success.

It sounds a bit off if you ask me.  To me, these ingredients look more like those from a blood flow supplement.  Nothing really unique or new but from what I do know is that supplements that improve blood flow can help with hearing loss.

This is because when there is not enough blood flow reaching the Stereocilia Hairs then they can not function properly.

I mean I will look at this more closely when I look at the ingredients shortly but for now, let’s instead ask.

Is Sonovive LEGIT?

Well, in some respects I would say yes.  If you purchase Sonovive you will receive the product.  You should also find that if you wish to do so you can claim back a refund within 60 days (if the conditions are met).

However, instead, it might be a bit more fitting to ask questions like Is Sam Olsen Legit?  Does Sonovive Really Work? and Can Sonovive Help Restore Hearing Loss?

It seems to me that this supplement might actually work depending on who takes it.  The quality I really don’t know about – it’s a tough one, and as for Sam Olsen, I really don’t know if he is real or not.

This wouldn’t be the first supplement like this to create a fictional background story and Creator.  For me, it is the products that don’t make up these stories that seem to be more legitimate.

I mean for me it’s the brands that fully disclose their owners and that are transparent about who they are that are the LEGIT ones.  Sonovive does not fall under this category, yet still, let’s take a look.

What’s Inside the Sonovive Supplement

what are the sonovive ingredients and what do they do

1# – Ginkgo Biloba and Hearing Health

For its antioxidant effects, some research has concluded that Gingko Bilboa may in fact be used to treat hearing loss.

In one study 56 participants with unilateral sudden sensorineural hearing loss were given either intravenous methylprednisolone (a type of steroidal treatment) or a Gingko Biboa supplement.

It was found that the group that took Ginko Bilboa had better results than those that took the methylprednisolone.  [R]

2# – St. John’s Wort for Hearing Loss

Much can be said about St. John’s Wort, a flowering plant that has been used medicinally for centuries.  Treating depression as a natural alternative to Prozac is one popular known use for St. John’s Wort.

Although, according to the National Center for Complementary and Integrated Health St. John’s Wort may be beneficial for hearing health and conditions such as tinnitus and ear infections.

This is because St. John’s Wort is thought to help relieve inflammation related to the nervous system.  [R]

3# – L-Glutamine, Amino Acids and Ear Health

Quite a few amino acids including Arginine, Taurine, and Methinione play an important role in the prevention of hearing loss.  Glutathione (a combination of L-Cysteine, Glycine and L-Glutatamate) is known for its ability to reduce the risk of hearing loss from acoustic overstimulation and noise exposure.

L-Glutamine is added to supplements for things like tinnitus and immune support.  It naturally occurs as an important neurotransmitter but whether this can help restore hearing loss I am not really sure.   Although what I can surmise is that a nutritional deficiency in amino acids such as L-Glutamine has been linked to hearing loss.  [R]

4# – Phosphatidylserine 4% Complex

Phosphatidylserine is a chemical found inside the brain known as a phospholipid.  What it does is forms part of the protein docking sites necessary for the activation of several key signalling pathways.

As a result, these activities are known to stimulate neuronal survival, neurite growth and synaptogenesis.  [R]

5# – Bacopa Monnieri

Traditionally Bacopa Monnieri is a popular Ayurvedic herb used for treating a variety of different ailments.  Although, perhaps this herb is best known as a neural tonic and memory enhancer.  Early evidence even suggests that treatment with Bacopa Monnieri may be used to benefit those with Dementia, Epilepsy, and Parkinson’s Disease.  [R]

For hearing health through I am not sure quite why this is added to this supplement but I do see that there are positive neurological effects that this herb is known to induce.

6# – N-Acetyl-L-Carnitine Hydrochloride (NALC-HC1)

Although, there is no real definitive treatment for hearing loss one name often making the rounds is NALC.  This is a combination of N-Acetylcysteine which is an antioxidant and acetyl-L-carnitine which is a compound that helps maintain mitochondrial bio-energy and integrity.

In one study NALC, respectively, significantly reduced permanent threshold shifts and hair cell loss compared to saline-treated animals when given 1 and 4 h post-noise exposure.  [R]

Its addition to SonoVive appears to be again for its neurological benefits very much like the previous 3 ingredients plus also the next two.

7# – What Is Vinpocetine For Hearing Loss

Extracted from the Periwinkle plant Vinpocetine is a brain-boosting compound that has been shown in some studies to help improve hearing capacity for those that have suffered from sensorineural hearing loss.

In contrast, the effects of vinpocetine on increasing brain blood flow, enhancing cerebral metabolism and reducing injury to blood vessels have been known for decades.   However, promising research continues that shows Vinpocetine as an efficient means of treatment for better brain and nervous system health

8# – Huperzine-A

One possible benefit of Huperzine-A is its ability to inhibit the effects of d-Galactose (d-gal) which is a type of monosaccharide sugar known to cause an increase in the threshold auditory brainstem response (ABR) by causing inflammation of cochlear neurons.  D-gal is also thought to cause cellular senescence and decrease neurofilament in the cochlear tissues.  Huperzine-A for this reason can be determined to help protect the cochlear tissues from d-gal.  [R]

*So I hope this all makes sense SonoVive is basically a kind of Nootropic supplement that is formulated to nourish the brain’s neurotransmitters and to help safeguard against further hearing loss with the possible hope that hearing loss might be naturally restored.  It sounds like it could potentially help but one does wonder how long this could take.

SonoVive Benefits

Really I can only make assumptions based on the information that I have gathered about this product.  I am not sure if I would straight up recommend this to someone with hearing loss but I think there could be something to the neural translator relationship with the stereocilia.

I see that there is quite an emphasis within the marketing on neurodegeneration, and especially how it causes hearing loss.  This seems to be true given that age plays such a factor in overall brain health with many elderly people becoming less capable of hearing.  In retrospect, I would also suggest that blood flow to the stereocilia organelles is a possible factor too and I do wonder what part SonoVive might have to play in this.

Overall,  I think this could be worth a try for maybe 3-6 months but then I would also recommend looking into other treatments.  Even I think other products that include these same ingredients from more reputable brands.

Dosage

The recommended dosage for Sonovive is 1-2 capsules a day to be taken before meals, or as directed by healthcare professionals regarding any pre-existing conditions.

Refunds and Returns

For any customers wishing to do so as long as it hasn’t passed 60 days from your order date, you can claim your money back minus shipping on all orders of SonoVive.  Please just be aware that empty bottles must be returned as well as unused bottles.  If you throw away your empty bottles you may not be able to claim back your refund.

Is Sonovive Safe?

There is a couple of things here.  Firstly, if you are allergic to Soy you can NOT take this.

Then another thing is that because the Sonovive formula contains St. John’s Wort you should not exceed 1-2 capsules a day.  If you read the label then you will see that it says St. John’s Wort may contribute to Photosensitivity which may cause skin irritation and redness for those exposed to strong sunlight or tanning booths.

It also warns against using if you suffer from blood clotting disorders or if you take anticoagulants.

You should as well stop taking 2-3 weeks before if you are due for any surgical or dental procedures

Plus if you are a couple trying to conceive you should not take this as it apparently may reduce fertility.

PLUS there is more DO NOT take if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, under 18, if you have epilepsy or have a history of seizures;

OR if you are taking any MAO drugs and if you have any allergies you should be aware that this product is packaged and manufactured in a facility that poses a risk of cross-contamination.

So basically, if you are allergic to gluten, dairy, shellfish, nuts or anything else you should probably not take this product.

*It doesn’t paint a pretty picture I know but anyhow for anyone that is actually interested.

SonoVive Vs. Nootopia

Honestly,  I couldn’t actually find any supplements actually labelled as ear health supplements that looked really any better than what I’m seeing with SonoVive.  In fact, one I come across was also by Sam Olsen and had the same ingredients as SonoVive.  {See Here}

This I think is very dodgy but really It seems that the ear health/tinnitus niche is kind of a bit suspect as a whole.

I mean looking through Quora I see a lot of people saying that they believe all ear health supplements are scams.  Like I really do wonder.  Have these people tried multiple different ear health supplements or has one bad experience been enough for them to slander every new product that hits the shelves?

I really think both could be the case.

But, on that note, I have seen some discussion regarding supplements for the individual ingredients I’ve mentioned above such as L-Glutamine and NAC.   Can something like one of them really help?  I do wonder.

But seriously about the brain health/nutrition aspect.  Like, I see some of these ingredients are popular in nootropics.

Like I actually think Sonovive reminds me a lot of a brain health/nootropics supplement. Which I think is quite interesting.

Lots of focus seems to be on the gut and brain connection and honestly, I think this is not such a bad thing.

Can Nootropics Resolve Hearing Loss?

Like when it comes to nootropics I think one of the best ones I’m seeing going around at the moment is Bioptimizers Nootopia.

The price might be a bit of a turn-off but for the positive effects this can have on brain health, clarity, concentration, and mindfulness – just in general it really does seem like an interesting thing to experiment with.

I mean I’ve taken a couple of nootropic supplements now and they really are something else.  Just for brain function, and productivity I’ve personally had amazing results but with respect to ear health, I really don’t think either this or Sonovive could repair something like a damaged ear drum.

Really I think there is a point of no return for the majority if not all of our organs.

But I do wonder – if it really is a case of damaged neural networks that are behind hearing loss then perhaps something like this could really work.

I will let you decide for yourselves but yes have a shop around for good nootropics because the right product might actually help.

In Conclusion

Can Sonovive Help Restore Hearing Loss?  Seriously! I am not wholly convinced but all I can say is there is only one way to find out.

  • Buy it,
  • Try it
  • and if it doesn’t work ask for your money back.

I personally think it sounds like it has a very interesting group of ingredients. After doing my research these do seem to have evidence to support their benefits in combatting brain inflammation and hearing loss but overall I do not completely trust Sam Olsen or whoever it really is that is selling this product.

If you watch the video one thing I noticed Sam Olsen say is he is not a doctor. Clickbank the vendor of this product do not allow their sellers to make false claims about being doctors or medical professionals. If you do not make these claims you can use a pen name which is basically a fake persona and I do wonder. As I did notice another lie saying this supplement is plant based – it is not because it uses Gelatin capsules.

What I Like

I actually am quite fascinated by the claims made by the Sonovive website/sales page.  About the brain health aspect affecting hearing – It leads me to believe that if you can get the right nutrition whether from Sonovive or elsewhere then this could really make you hear better.

The brain generally speaking to me is a fascinating thing.  A newborn baby for starters is born with over 100 billion neurons in its brain.  Throughout life, an insane amount of neurons live and die that factor into every aspect of our being.  It is interesting how the older we become the more we are susceptible to things like hearing and memory loss.  Like could this be because of a failing neural network caused by brain inflammation?

Going a bit deep there but absolutely I think the ingredients listed on the bottle of Sonovive could actually help with this.

But What I Don’t Like

Honestly, I smell a bit of a rat here.  Can Sonovive restore hearing loss? It is a shame really because if a product like Sonovive actually had the ingredients inside listed on the bottle from a quality source they really should market themselves better.

I haven’t tried Sonovive as I don’t have hearing loss so probably no point in me taking them but besides this point when I see no reviews, no proper website, and no branding other than the product name I think it is lazy.

In my opinion, they are either total con artists or complete amateurs.  I think either could be true. In fact, one very big lie is they say this product is plant-based in the sales video. They are not because they use Gelatin capsules.

So there is that and I think all the warnings on the bottle, and only 60 days return policy. I would seriously – if you really want to try this buy 3 bottles – take 1 bottle and if no change contact them and ask about whether you should open a 2nd bottle – then if after another 2 or 3 weeks has passed IF still no restoration of hearing loss contact them about returning your empty and unused bottles for a refund.

I would hope this works because seems to me their is potential here but sadly seems a little too good to be true.

Pros and Cons

The Pros

  • May potentially restore hearing loss
  • Possible brain health benefits
  • 60-day return policy (from date of order)
  • Multi-buy discounts

The Cons

  • Sam Olsen seems like a fictional character
  • NOT vegan friendly
  • Possibly unsafe for people with allergies
  • May cause infertility, and other warnings
  • No background information online
  • No reviews

Final Word

I would not recommend this product for a lot of reasons but maybe this is genuine – decide for yourself.  The ingredients I have researched.  There is definitely something to taking these plants and herbs for improving brain health, lowering brain inflammation and certainly many other things.

I would say maybe look at these ingredients individually.  Something to look at for future posts for me I think perhaps ? but anyway I think if you really buy all this about a failing neural network otherwise maybe try a decent nootropics supplement and see if this helps.

Nootopia I think is the best I’m aware of.  Cogniora was a good one I thought after taking it but their marketing I think ultimately finished them.  Shame really but the main point is if you believe in what is being said by Sam Olsen and Sonovive try a good nootropics product and see how you get on with that. I mean i actually believe the recipe for this supplement could work – it really is just the supplement itself.
