It is a very complex health condition – it can be quite unbearable for people but you have to be very careful with how you treat it. My belief is that you need to maintain a stable level of HCL in your stomach for digestion and nutrient absorption. Some think that you can quite easily mistake low stomach acid for high stomach acid and I’m quite Interested in this idea. Although testing I don’t think is very straight forward so really things like diet modifications, managing stress and good sleep hygiene are definitely good avenues to explore.
