14 Amazing Benefits of Zeolite Clinoptilolite
Now for anyone that considers their health and wellness to be important enough to consider buying dietary supplements, there are numerous options available. Many supplements I have reviewed on this website already but for detox and cleanse dieting this is one that many people will want to take a look at.
Zeolite Clinoptilolite is one of many different detox supplements. Other examples include Bentonite Clay and Activated Charcoal which are both kind of similar in effect. But you also have things like Milk Thistle and other ‘Liver Detox’ type supplements.
However, Zeolite is quite unique in how it works as a magnet to attract and expel toxins from the body unlike anything else. It triggers a process called Adsorption which binds to toxins and heavy metal ions and easily eliminates them through the GI tract and into our excrement.
“If left to absorb into our bloodstream as normal these heavy metals and toxins can wreak havoc on our health and wellness causing widespread inflammation. I have covered the effects of Inflammation in several posts now but just to summarize this can be a precursor for many nasty health conditions such as obesity, insulin resistance, and autoimmune disorders.“
So What is Zeolite Clinoptilolite?
So, Zeolite Clinoptilolite is an ancient mineral with a unique chemical structure that allows it to act as a natural detoxifier. It is composed of aluminum, silicon, oxygen, and other trace elements, and has a porous structure. It is found in various geological formations around the world, including volcanic rocks, sedimentary rocks, and soils.
If you are interested in Zeolite and how it works then this video below I think below explains it quite well.
In summary, this video says that supplementing with Nano-Sized Zeolite adds positively charged ions into the body that attracts negatively charged ions such as heavy metals and toxins which help to cleanse the body so it can naturally repair itself in a more suitable environment.
It is an incredible natural process that this triggers and I hope I can show you this with the following…
What Are The 14 Benefits of Zeolite Clinoptilolite
This list is not everything either. I’m sure this isn’t the full list of things Zeolite minerals can do to benefit human health but hopefully, you should find this to be some good information and it will give some insight at least into what Zeolite Clinoptilolite can potentially do for you 🙂
So let’s take a look and get started with benefit #1>>
Benefit #1 – Removes Toxins From the Body
Zeolite Clinoptilolite has the ability to trap and remove toxins from the body, including heavy metals, pesticides, and other harmful chemicals. The more common heavy metals that are toxic to us include lead, arsenic, cadmium, and mercury as well as environmental toxins such as BPAs and PFAS.
Of course, we do need some heavy metals such as Magnesium, Zinc, Iron, and Copper. This might worry people that take Zeolite supplements but the good news is that these are not eliminated through the process of Adsorption. Beneficial nutrients are not picked up through the process of adsorption.
The great thing about Zeolite Clinoptilolite is it only removes the bad and leaves the good. It was historically used to cleanse water before water treatment plants became a thing. It is incredible really and the best part is what it can do to water it can do for the human body.
Benefit #2 – Zeolite Boosts the Immune System
Another possible benefit of supplementing with Zeolite clinoptilolite is its ability to support immune function in a number of different ways. Benefit #3 – Zeolite Supports Gut Health
By reducing oxidative stress and inflammation another benefit of Zeolite clinoptilolite is for digestive health and promoting the growth of beneficial gut bacteria.
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) may be treatable with ZC supplements. Also, Leaky Gut is another condition that ZC can help with because of its effects on the intestinal barrier. The reduction of Ammonia concentration and other toxic biomarkers.
By correcting gut health issues many positive effects can happen including benefit #4 >>
Benefit #4 – Zeolite Improves Skin Health
Zeolite Clinoptilolite offers a plethora of benefits for skincare. Its unique composition and structure make it an excellent ingredient for various skincare products.
One of the key benefits of Zeolite Clinoptilolite is its ability to purify and detoxify the skin. It acts as a powerful adsorbent, attracting and trapping impurities, toxins, and pollutants on the skin’s surface. This makes it an effective cleanser, helping to unclog pores and remove dirt, excess oil, and environmental contaminants.
Additionally, Zeolite Clinoptilolite possesses gentle exfoliating properties. Its fine particles work to remove dead skin cells, revealing a smoother and more radiant complexion. By promoting cell turnover, Zeolite Clinoptilolite helps improve the skin’s texture, tone, and overall appearance.
Plus not only this, but also Zeolite Clinoptilolite has a high ion exchange capacity, allowing it to absorb excess sebum without stripping the skin of its natural moisture. This makes it suitable for individuals with oily or combination skin, helping to balance oil production and reduce shine.
Benefit #5 – Enhances Athletic Performance
Improving endurance and combating muscle fatigue are both possible benefits of taking Zeolite Clinoptilolite. Enhancing performance and supporting recovery are both desirable effects of taking dietary supplements and this is certainly one reason Zeolite might be considered.
For its ability to adsorb and eliminate toxins from the body Zeolite Clinoptilolite can be great to counter the negative effects of intense physical activity. Where the body produces metabolic waste products, such as lactic acid and free radicals (which can contribute to fatigue, muscle soreness, and decreased performance) Zeolite can be a great solution.
In this regard Zeolite can help by selectively adsorbing and removing these toxins, reducing their accumulation and promoting faster recovery. It can also benefit athletes through its high cation exchange capacity, meaning it can exchange ions with the surrounding environment.
This property can be beneficial for athletes as it helps maintain electrolyte balance and hydration. By regulating electrolyte levels, further to this zeolite may contribute to improved muscle function, hydration status, and overall athletic performance
Benefit #6 – Reduces Allergies and Asthma Symptoms
The symptoms of allergies and asthma may be reduced by combating inflammation and this is another benefit of taking Zeolite Clinoptilolite supplements. This may also help improve respiratory function and reduce the severity of asthma attacks by helping to strengthen Immune function.
Benefit #7 – Zeolite Helps Insulin and Blood Sugar
Zeolite clinoptilolite has been shown to improve insulin sensitivity and regulate blood sugar levels in people with diabetes. This may be due to its ability to reduce inflammation, oxidative stress, and lipid peroxidation which can all be contributing factors to insulin resistance.
It should also be noted that by taking Zeolite supplements this has been found to help modulate blood sugar levels. For this Zeolite’s unique structure and ion exchange properties may help regulate glucose metabolism and even metabolic diseases which can also be contributing factors.
But not only this It has also been suggested that zeolite could facilitate the absorption and utilization of glucose by cells, potentially leading to better blood sugar regulation.
However, more research is needed to fully understand the specific mechanisms and effectiveness of zeolite in this area.
Benefit #8 – Zeolite Helps Improve Liver Function
Firstly, Liver health can be significantly improved by reducing oxidative stress and inflammation. For this reason, Zeolite Clinoptilolite may be beneficial for people with liver disease or those who abuse alcohol or drugs that can be harmful to the liver.
Of course, the liver plays an ever-crucial role in detoxification, metabolism, and overall metabolic balance within the body, and here Zeolite may contribute through several different mechanisms.
For one its unique structure and adsorption properties allow it to bind and remove toxins from the body. The liver is responsible for processing and eliminating toxins, and zeolite may aid in this process by adsorbing certain harmful substances, such as heavy metals, pesticides, and mycotoxins.
And two, zeolite has been studied for its potential antioxidant effects. Zeolite’s antioxidant properties may help neutralize free radicals and reduce oxidative stress in the liver, promoting a healthier environment for detoxing.
Additionally, zeolite may have an immunomodulatory effect on the liver. It has been suggested that zeolite could help regulate immune responses and reduce inflammation in liver tissues.
By supporting a balanced immune response, zeolite may contribute to better liver health and function.
Benefit #9 – Zeolite Helps Alkalize The Body
Besides helping the body to flush out heavy metals, Zeolite also helps the kidneys to balance our body’s natural pH levels. Alkalization and neutralizing our levels of acid is one of the kidney’s main roles and this can further be boosted by Zeolite’s composition which includes minerals such as calcium, potassium, and magnesium, which are all alkaline in nature.
According to some theories, when zeolite is ingested, it may release these minerals into the body, potentially helping to buffer acidity and promote a more alkaline environment.
Secondly, zeolite is thought to aid in the removal of acidic waste products and toxins from the body. As mentioned earlier, zeolite has adsorptive properties, allowing it to attract and trap certain substances, including acidic compounds. By assisting in the elimination of these waste products, zeolite may indirectly contribute to pH balance and alkalization.
Benefit #10 – Helps Detox Microplastic Residue
As well as heavy metals, environmental toxins, and pathogens that attack the immune system ZC is also great for cleaning up other types of waste that accumulate inside the body including plastic residue and unnatural GMOs.
Zeolite has been explored for its potential to aid in cleansing the body of microplastics and genetically modified organisms (GMOs), although research in this area is still emerging. While more studies are needed to establish the full extent of zeolite’s effectiveness, there are a few mechanisms by which it is believed to offer support.
Microplastics are small plastic particles that have become pervasive in the environment and can potentially accumulate in the body through ingestion or inhalation. Zeolite’s adsorption properties make it a candidate for attracting and trapping microplastics.
Some proponents suggest that when zeolite is consumed, it may bind to microplastics in the gastrointestinal tract, preventing their absorption and facilitating their elimination from the body through normal waste processes.
However, it is important to note that the ability of zeolite to effectively remove microplastics from the body is still an area of ongoing research.
Benefit #11 – Good For Dental Plaque and Oral Health
One of the key benefits of zeolite for oral health is its ability to absorb and remove toxins and impurities. Zeolite’s porous structure allows it to attract and trap harmful substances, including bacteria, toxins, and odorous compounds. This adsorptive action may contribute to reducing the levels of oral bacteria and plaque, which are known contributors to dental issues such as cavities and gum disease.
Furthermore, zeolite has been studied for its potential antibacterial properties. Some research suggests that zeolite may help inhibit the growth of bacteria associated with oral health problems, including Streptococcus mutans, a bacterium known for its role in tooth decay.
By reducing the presence of harmful bacteria, zeolite may help maintain a healthier oral microbiome.
Benefit #12 – Zeolite Helps With Weight Loss
Another great thing that Zeolite Clinoptilolite can be beneficial for is weight loss. This is because it helps subdue intense cravings for junk food, sugars, and carbohydrates by diminishing the bacteria that often feed on them. Its potential benefits don’t end here either.
Zeolite has a unique structure with a high surface area, allowing it to attract and trap various substances, including environmental toxins and heavy metals. Some proponents suggest that by reducing toxins zeolite may indirectly support weight loss.
Toxins can potentially disrupt metabolic processes and contribute to weight gain or difficulty losing weight. By helping to remove toxins, zeolite might help optimize the body’s natural weight management mechanisms.
Also, another aspect of zeolite’s potential role in weight loss is related to appetite control. Some preliminary studies have suggested that zeolite supplementation may help reduce feelings of hunger and promote satiety. By increasing feelings of fullness, Zeolite supplements may assist individuals in better managing their food intake and portion control, which can be beneficial for weight management.
Benefit #13 – Blood Clotting and Wound Healing
One potential benefit of Zeolite is its hemostatic properties, meaning its ability to promote blood clotting. Zeolite has a high surface area and a negatively charged structure, which allows it to attract and activate blood platelets. Platelets play a crucial role in the clotting process by forming a plug at the site of injury and initiating the clotting cascade.
By facilitating platelet activation, Zeolite may help accelerate the clotting process and support hemostasis, particularly in cases of mild to moderate bleeding.
Furthermore, Zeolite has been investigated for its potential role in wound healing. The mineral’s adsorptive properties enable it to absorb excess moisture and create a favorable environment for wound healing. Zeolite dressings have been used in some studies as a wound management tool, with promising results.
Zeolite dressings can help maintain a moist wound environment, protect against infection, and promote tissue regeneration. Additionally, zeolite’s potential antimicrobial properties may contribute to its effectiveness in preventing and managing wound infections.
Benefit #14 – Zeolite Has Anti-Cancer Properties:
Zeolite clinoptilolite has been found to have anti-cancer properties. By reducing oxidative stress and inflammation it is known that this helps inhibit the growth of cancer cells.
Zeolite’s potential anti-cancer activity is due to its ability to selectively adsorb and remove toxins, heavy metals, and other harmful substances from the body. Accumulation of these substances can contribute to oxidative stress, inflammation, and DNA damage, which are factors associated with cancer development.
By reducing the body’s toxic burden, the presence of Zeolite may help create a more favorable environment for overall health and potentially support cancer prevention.
Furthermore, Zeolite’s unique structure and surface properties allow it to interact with cells and molecules in the body. Some studies have suggested that zeolite may exhibit immunomodulatory effects, meaning it could help modulate the immune response.
A strong immune system is crucial for recognizing and eliminating abnormal cells, including cancer cells. Zeolite’s potential immune-enhancing properties might support the body’s natural defense mechanisms against cancer and preliminary findings are very promising for using Zeolite as a cancer treatment.

I honestly hadn’t ever heard of Zeolite Clinoptilolite supplements before. But, I do know that detoxing our bodies is huge in terms of our overall health. I have used Bentonite clay for several years, though. Is it alright to take bentonite clay and Zeolite Clinoptilolite together? Will there be any extra added health benefits if you double down on both of them?
Hi Garen, I will be looking at this in a future post. Bentonite Clay is good for elimination but Zeolite does it without eliminating certain beneficial nutrients. I don’t think it is really worth taking together. Rather one or the other I would say.
Thank you for yet another lovely article! In my hometown they recently found a high level of PFAS in the ground and they are sanitizing the soil at the moment. However, people who are producing vegetables and such in their own garden have gotten a large amount of PFAS in their bloodstream now. This means, including me… I’ve been looking at ways of getting the toxins and metals out of my body. Knowing about Zeolite, I will definitely give it a chance!
Hi Vivendra, Yes Zeolite is a very interesting substance. I was reading that it was used for water treatment before all the water treatment plants come on the scene. Massive potential I think and another good example how people can look to the past to solve problems of the future.
For detoxing from PFAs etc. this apparently can help as it binds to positively charged ions (the bad ones) and eliminates them. These include PFAs and other environmental toxins like BPAs etc. If you are looking to try highly recommend a product called Pure Body Extra by Touchstone Essentials.
Thanks so much, Alex for this information. I had not heard of this natural health product previously as I have been using natural products for years. Thanks for the education.
Your welcome Joseph. I recommend checking out the Zeolite Spray. You can get as powder but best of my knowledge it is best mixed with pure water. A good product to look out for is Touchstone Essentials Pure Body Extra [See My Review Here]
